  • Ash Wednesday - LENT

    Fr Gunn, our School Chaplain, joined us this morning and distributed ashes to our Y1-Y7 children.

     

    Fr Gunn spoke to the children about the season of Lent and the importance of it - some children offered suggestions of what they would give up for Lent, computer consoles and chocolate came high up on the list.

     

    Thank you to Fr Gunn for the lovely visit this morning.

    What a day!!!
    Massive congratulations to our wonderful school choir who performed magnificently in the Peace Proms at the SSE Arena yesterday. 
    A long and tiring day - but one that will live long in the memories of the children and families in attendance 🎶❤😊

    On Friday 24th February we welcomed Sullivan Prep to our school for two football matches.
    In keenly contested games the results were as follows -

    St Malachy's Boys 4-0 Sullivan Boys
    St Malachy's Girls 4-0 Sulivan Girls

  • Y7 Service of Light

    In preparation for their upcoming Confirmation, our Y7 children joined their peers from our Parish Schools for a service conducted by Fr Gunn @ 6.30pm.

    Mrs Finlay, Miss Devine and our school choir provided beautiful accompaniment to this beautiful service.

  • Y3 'Sock' Snowmen!

    Miss Roddy's Y3 class had great fun creating their snowmen from 'old socks '!  The children filled the white socks with rice and then carefully moulded the shape into a snowman adding accessories and they worked. The snowman finished of with the toe of a colourful sock as a hat - great idea and great fun!
  • Y3-Y7 Mass of St Malachy

    Our Y3 - Y7 children attended mass at St Comgall's chapel on Tuesday 29th November to celebrate St Malachy's day (which occurred while we were on mid-term break). It was a beautiful service led by Fr Gunn accompanied by our wonderful choir. It was wonderful to have so many of our boys and girls involved in the service - and afterwards Fr Gunn spoke to the children about the new icon on display in the church, that of 'their' saint - St Malachy. A very proud day for the school and parish community.

    Our Book fair is running this week Monday to Friday - a fantastic selection of books and stationary on offer at great prices - remember our school receives a commission for all books sold helping us to re-stock our library annually - give your child the gift of reading!!!!!

  • WW2 visit for Y4 classes

    Our Y4 classes had a treat today with a visit from the North Down Heritage centre delivering a talk on WW2. This linked with the Y4 topic and the children were able to see many artefacts from a bygone age!
