Y7 LEAVERS 2021 😢

So we said goodbye to our Y7 children at our LEAVERS ASSEMBLY yesterday - tears shed and memories aplenty 🥰 All children were presented with their Records Of Achievement and a copy of the Leavers Booklet, filled with their own memories and tales of their time in our school.
They have been a magnificent Year Group, and have been through alot in the last 15 months - but have always had a positive outlook 😎 Thank you to our Y7 teachers Miss Roddy and Miss Flannigan, our Y7 classroom assistants, and all from our school who have shaped the lives of these children ❤

Good luck boys and girls, your new schools will be enhanced by your presence in September ❤

INTER-SCHOOLS SPORTS

On Friday, our Y7 children welcomed their friends from St Comgall's Y7 class to our school for a round of Football ⚽️ and Netball 🏐 matches. Games played in a competitive spirit and with great fun!
It was wonderful to see the schools together, and another careful step towards normality ❤ Thank you to Miss Roddy and to Mrs Hunter and Mr Ennis from St Comgall's 🥰

THANK YOU TO SCOTCH CORNER 🥰🥰🥰

Last year, our Y7 cohort won (big) Sweetie Boxes from Scotch Corner and they contacted one of our Y7 teachers saying they'd like to donate an ice-cream tub and sweets to all the P7s. How lovely is that!

The children picked up their ice-cream on the way back from their Cinema Trip. (Raya and the Dragon & Peter Rabbit 2)

SCOTCH CORNER are based at the bottom of the Clandeboye Road, beside the play park and across from The Clandy newsagents.

The Big Bedtime Read!

The BIG BEDIME READ at St Malachy’s Nursery Unit 🥰

Our Nursery Unit hosted two nights of ‘The Big Bedtime Read Pyjama Party’. The children came to Nursery in their pyjamas from 6pm to 7pm and brought with them their favourite teddy bear to snuggle with. A great night was had of bedtime stories, meditation and mindfulness, and of course, some milk and cookies.
Thank you to Mrs Mulhern-Caddell and our Nursery Staff for a wonderful experience for the boys and girls 🥰

Sacrament of Confirmation 2021

Congratulations to our Confirmandi who had the Sacrament of Confirmation conferred on them by Canon Joseph Gunn assisted by Deacon James McAllister. It was a beautiful service - the boys and girls did their families and our school proud. Beautiful music from Mrs Finlay and the children well prepared by Miss Roddy & Miss Flannigan (Y7 teachers) and Mrs Ewing (Religion coordinator)

Outdoor Awards Assembly and a Fond Farewell - Mrs Hall

Today we said goodbye to a wonderful lady - Mrs Jennie Hall who gave over 25 years of dedicated classroom assistant service to St Malachy's has retired (early!!!) Mrs Hall worked with our KS2 classes every day, and was also responsible for our Netball and Athletics successes over the years. It was fitting that she was presented with gifts at our outdoor socially-distanced KS2 monthly Awards Assembly, as it was her creative hand that scribed the Awards Certificates all these years.

A huge loss to our school, but fantastic memories, and time now to spend with her precious grandchild and family.

Y3 First Penance

Congratulations to the boys and girls from our Y3 cohort who made their First Penance today, beautifully officiated by Canon Gunn Thank you to our Y3 teachers and assistants and to Mrs Ewing, our Religion Coordinator, for preparing the children for today
