๐ค๐ Mr Joseph Edgar - RIP ๐๐ค
It is with great sadness I to write inform you of the death of our esteemed Chair of Governors, Mr Joseph Edgar, who passed away today having taken ill on Tuesday.
This is a terribly sad time for Joe's wife and daughter, and a massive loss for our school. Joe had St Malachy's running through his veins, he was on our Governors for nearly 20 years, and Chair for the past eight. He would tell anyone who would listen about St Malachy's - a fierce supporter of our school, who was immensely proud of our children, our staff and our community. On a personal level, I was proud to call Joe a friend โค๏ธ
All I would ask is that you keep Joe and his family in your prayers at this time, as we come to terms with the untimely death of a wonderful man.
RIP Joe โค๏ธ
๐ค๐Y5CM Roots of Empathy๐๐ค
On Wednesday our Roots of Empathy baby, Khianna, came to visit Mr Marsella's Y5 class and show off her new talents! Y5 have watched her grow and develop since she was a baby and can't believe that she can now crawl, has four teeth and is nearly walking! P5 are learning how to show empathy by watching Khianna and by chatting to her mummy about her development. What a special experience for all! โค๏ธโญ๏ธ

Mrs Ewing's Y3 class had an exciting day last Friday when they went to visit the residents at Clandeboye Care Home ๐ก They enjoyed helping the residents decorate the home with their beautiful colouring and especially enjoyed meeting the newest resident... Our very own Y6 teacher, and children’s book author, Mr Richardson had the distinct pleasure of visiting The International school of Como in ITALY ๐ฎ๐น Mr Richardson was invited over to deliver assemblies and workshops to the children ๐ช. Twelve classes thoroughly enjoyed hearing all about The Animal in Amy novel, learned lots of animal facts, strategies to control emotions, and of course had lots of fun. Well done sir, proud of you!!!

The garden has been a hive of activity during April. Children from all the year groups have been out planting a range of flowers ๐, herbs, vegetables and strawberries ๐ as well as enjoying the lovely weather๐. We were lucky enough to be recipients of the School Pollinator grant ๐ฅณ from @liveherelovehere and have been able to develop the garden with the help of the Conservation Volunteers ๐

๐ค๐ Y5 Passion Play ๐๐ค
Today our Y5 children portrayed the story of Christ's โ๏ธ passion and death to a packed house in school ๐ซ They put on such a moving and serene performance many were close to tears (myself included as I struggled to speak afterwards!) Our choir? What can I say? Magnificent โค๏ธ
Thank you to all staff and children involved today - and thank you to Canon Gunn for his attendance and kind words to the children afterwards ๐
