Award Winning Author Visit
Award Winning Scottish Author Stuart Reid came to St. Malachy’s to promote a love of reading His assembly is still being talked about by the boys and girls and we haven’t stopped laughing since His love of reading is infectious and he has instilled this in all the boys and girls who were very excited to start reading his books Stuart also held Creative Writing Workshops for the P5, P6 & P7 children These were equally fun and engaging and have encouraged some budding authors amongst our pupils. A fantastic day had by all, thank you Stuart

School Calendar 2024/25
We are delighted that our School Calendar has come back from the printers, and will be distributed tomorrow to the eldest child in the family Filled with all of our school dates for the year, this will keep you right We would ask for a contribution of £2 per calendar, as these are a big cost to the school but we feel of great benefit to Parents and Guardians. The £2 can be given to class teachers after calendar goes home - thank you
Mr Rafferty
Thank you staff for all you do
Today we celebrated Teacher & Classroom Assistant Appreciation Day Extended breaks in both Foundation/KS1 and KS2 Staffrooms for staff to relax and enjoy some treats (from the wonderful 'Singing Kettle') mid-morning (which meant extra playtime for the boys and girls which meant everyone won!!!)
Thank you to all the staff in our school, your dedication to our children and school community doesn't go unnoticed

Digital Leaders
Today we held a Special KS2 Assembly where we announced our Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy HB & HG and Prefects. These children were appointed based on staff feedback from their years in our school (a very difficult task given how many children are deserving), great appointments who will do us proud
Our Digital Leaders received their badges at this assembly and have already started supporting children throughout the school (and staff!) in all things ICT
We are so very proud of our boys and girls
Mr Rafferty

P5MD and our P7 Digital Leaders enjoyed a morning of coding with the Dream Space Team celebrating World Space Week on a live Teams meeting. The boys and girls explored basic coding while making their own space-themed game using MakeCode Arcade. The Digital Leaders are now looking forward to showcasing their new skills to other classes! #MSDreamSpace
