Special Needs Provision

"The provision for special educational needs is very good. The school and the nursery unit identify well, and at an early stage, the children who require additional support with their learning; this is guided well by individual education plans which have achievable targets and useful strategies to guide classroom practice. Effective monitoring of the children’s progress informs future planning for their individual needs. The withdrawal support for literacy in the school is sensitive, flexible and responsive to the children’s needs, interests and abilities. "

The above statement was taken from our most recent ETI Inspection report - we are proud of the provision we are provide for children who require extra help with some areas of their learning.

Our commitment to SEN is reinforced by the fact that our Vice-Principal, Mrs Quinn, is our full time SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) providing both 1-2-1 and group work support 4 days per week.

Our foundation Stage teachers also provide support two days per week (2pm-3pm) working with small groups of children from Y4-Y7 developing Numeracy skills.
